I.S. equipment is equipment that allows you to monitor
or control units in hazardous areas. This equipment is
approved/classified by MSHA or UL. Some of the available
items are the Intrinsic Safety Barriers, there are three
types SG, SH and SL. There is the BlueBaby integrated barrier
boxes, which is
mounted in fresh air but allow I.S. sensors
to be mounted in hazardous areas. The RMcalibar is a standalone
unit that both monitors and controls units in hazardous areas
above ground; the RMcalibar is mounted in fresh air. There is
also a SA-501B Section Alarm this audio/visual alarm is MSHA
classified for methane.
